Lawyers Sign Petition for Judge Webb Re election

Attorney E M Deming received a petition from Grand Rapids last week signed by all the lawyers of that city asking Judge Webb to be come a candidate for re election at the expiration of his office on January 1st 1909. The petition is being circulated among the attorneys of this city for signatures. Judge Webb though nearly 70 years ago is considered one of the best circuit judges in the state and it is seldom that one of his decisions is reversed by the supreme court.

Connor Store Robbed with Teen Thief Caught in Stratford

Ray DeMoss discovered a broken front window at the Connor company store in Stratford. Constable Reed and two clerks pursued and found Otto Machin, about 19, stealing from the shelves and tobacco in his pockets. He was arraigned before Justice Curtin and sent to circuit court, then jailed in Waseau awaiting trial. Machin's grandfather and parents live in nearby areas of Germany.

Diseased Cow Slain in Madison Trotted Tuberculosis Case

Dr. D B Clark assistant state veterinarian visited the city last Thursday and killed a cow owned by Louis Heil found to have tuberculosis. Dr Fred Warsinski examined the herd and reported only this one animal affected. the cow, only slightly chilled, has been removed.
