Municipal election yields mixed party slate across city offices
In the Tuesday municipal vote a Democrat, a Republican and an Independent won the three key offices. John A. Hochman was elected mayor by 353 votes over Capt. Elmer E. Ames, Upham topped Doll for treasurer by 163, and W. S. Albright beat Weber and Nehs for assessor. Constables Griffin and Gerwing were chosen, with Gerwing ahead by 206. The common council will include six Republicans and six Democrats with six wards represented, and six supervisors were elected. The court race between Kerwin and Luse showed Kerwin ahead by 196 votes with a statewide tally pending official canvass.
