Death of Mrs Bartels in this city age fifty three
Mrs Catherine Bartels longtime resident of this city died at her Cedar street home Monday at age 53. Funeral held at M E church Wednesday with Rev J H Benson officiating in a large gathering. Survived by husband two children Emma and Otto Bartels two sisters Mrs Catherine Berg Mrs Henry Berg two brothers H H Berg of this city and J H Berg of Rantoul plus five Bartels grandchildren and others who died in infancy or early years. She was known as a patient generous caregiver and is mourned by all who knew her.

Arrangements for commencement week are being considered with variations from previous years. The senior ball will be for students and graduates and their friends, in the high school assembly room. The class play is Charleys Aunt with an apt cast. School closes June tenth. the week before is dedicated to commencement exercises. P. N. Christensen of Lincoln attended the Wood County jury commission meeting at Grand Rapids Tuesday, where jurors for the May term of circuit court starting May 9 were drawn, listing numerous names from Marshfield, Grand Rapids, Lincoln, and surrounding towns.

Eagles May Take Band to Wausau Convention
Badger Acre No. 624 of the order of Eagles plans to attend the June convention at Wausau with a band likely from the Second Regiment. The host meeting offers 50 expense money to each aerie bringing a band and a chance to compete for a further prize. A recent Eagles meeting initiated twenty five new members.
