Spaniard Martines Roasts Fowl in Oven for Exhibition

Madrid correspondence reports a Spaniard named Martines performing at the New Tivoli in Paris. He entered a heated oven in flannel clothing, sang a song as a fowl roasted beside him, then emerged after 15 minutes with a temperature reading near 100 degrees above boiling. He reentered, ate the fowl, and later escaped a noxious odor before recovering after a cold bath.
