Fire devastates Detroit match factory kills three

Detroit November 18. At the Improved Match Company factory water Wagner stumbled into a tray of matches and kicked it scattering burning matches. Three men were killed and six injured as flames swept the plant. Names include Reuben Davis foreman aged five years old and John Wagner night watchman with others injured from burns and smoke. Property loss reaches 400,000.

Railway bandits foiled near St. Cloud in Express hold up

About 10 o'clock last night an express train on the Great Northern railway was held near St. Cloud by robbers aiming for the express car. Believing the mail car was behind, the crew fled into St. Cloud with the treasure after the engineer accelerated away. No money was taken and no shots were fired. A posse rushed to the scene from St. Paul.

Representative Dolliver Weds in Fort Dodge Armory Reception

Representative J. P. Dolliver married Miss Louise Pearsons at First Presbyterian church in Fort Dodge Iowa. The Episcopal service was led by Rev. Greene with Rev. J. J. Dolliver assisting. A public reception followed at the armory attended by Senator Allison Governor Jackson and Congressman Perkins and their spouses. Dolliver, a popular Iowa congressman, is tied to philanthropist D. K. Pearsons of Chicago.

In Syracuse New York a wreck near Home injures Fireman Chris Wagner and Mail Clerks Porter and M J McCarthy. Engineer Frank Hager from Albany and two others are suspects. Dynamite Outrage in Small Town Drug Store

A dynamite cartridge was thrown through the window of Dr. John J. Sweetland’s drug store in Mottaville, killing none but seriously injuring patient Andrew Gray. The blast damaged the building and front door, while Dr. Sweetland escaped unharmed. Allen Me Thompson, a St. Joseph county farmer, was arrested Nov 18 as a suspect in the attack.

Think Griff Is The Man In Dark Michigan Murder Case

John Gri was arrested in Hascock Michigan on suspicion of murdering Fred Kremer and his wife a month earlier. He signed a deposition denying the crime while naming Ling Sam Charles McDonald and five men named Kelly as participants. A woman linked to Kelly’s household allegedly spoke, others deny involvement, and a bloodied clothing bundle found nearby is the victim’s burial garb.
