Frank Brinkerhoff saw a man struggle in the Eckford mill pond around 4 AM and called for help. A body recovered eight feet deep was identified as Rudolph Bartholomew, about 40 and a German farmer, reported sickly and demented. He left his home last night during a family watch, and Coroner Merrill impaneled a jury for an inquest set for 9 AM tomorrow.
