Calhoun county Republicans filled the oper house with delegates for the state and congressional conventions. Chairman Snyder presided, credentials were approved, and delegates were elected for the state, congressional, and senatorial events. A resolution praised John T. Rich's administration and delegates were instructed to support his renomination. The convention adjourned after selecting a county committee.
The county committee reports 82.70 debt with little funds. delegates including Prof Dickie John Callendar and Dr Paul Fox were chosen to attend the state convention at Kalamazoo. Debate over congressional and senatorial districting and party focus on liquor vs other issues. Attendees pledged support and adjourned. plus local notices and ads.
