The Calhoun County Lincoln Club plans its fourth annual banquet in Homer on Tuesday February 12. A business meeting at 3 PM will elect officers and set matters for action. In the evening a banquet at the Methodist church hall will be followed by addresses in the auditorium. Committees on arrangements banquet membership reception and more are named with Homer and nearby towns represented. An effort is under way to obtain special railroad rates to Homer.

German Lutheran church plans new edifice near spring
A meeting of church members reported the fundraising committee has raised about 27,000 for a new German Lutheran church building costing around 10,000. The committee includes the pastor Rev. C H Heidenreich, Charles Noneman, John Rantsohler, and George Waltz. They are consulting architects and will decide on pew plans to begin construction by spring. Clearing the property of trees started Monday.
