Public Interest Summary of Annual Reports on Postal and Indian Affairs

The Postmaster General reports a fiscal year revenue of 42.46 million dollars and expenditures of 49.61 million, leaving a cash deficit of 7.04 million, or 8.99 million including Pacific railroads. Revenue declines from lower postage and higher costs, with a potential surplus next year if business improves. Alaska routes, steamship subsidies, and foreign mail arrangements are debated. Agricultural, Indian, and public notices follow, detailing crop trends, land allotments, and tribal education plans, plus early action calls from Congress.
