City Government and Electric Lighting Report

At the regular city council session on Monday April 12 Mayor Ferguson presided. The electric light commissioners presented their annual financial report for April 1896 to April 1897 noting reduced expenditures, new line extensions, and rates that lowered lighting costs by over 25 percent. The council accepted the report, discussed street cleaning, and heard about the water works pending court action and potential future integration with the light plant.
