Marshall town pride shines through busy weekend
Local chatter follows a lively week in Marshall with a 10 K 5 K and 1 mile run, a sculpture dedication, a Riverwalk ribbon cutting and plans for a summer car show plus a much anticipated Fair. City officials touted quality of life as the Riverwalk opens with 6800 feet of boardwalk and four bridges along Kalamazoo River and Rice Creek. Rotary Highlights Michigan Diversity at 49th Awards Luncheon
Rotarians saluted Michigan diversity at the 49th Annual Community Achievement and Volunteer Leadership Awards Luncheon held at Schuler's Restaurant as part of Michigan Week. Among 16 statewide winners, two were from Marshall: John Collins, local historian, and Roger Graves, former Marshall Director of Public Safety. The Marshall Rotary Club has sponsored Michigan Week since 1979, serving Marshall for 78 years and contributing $100,000 since 1981 to world health and peace through the Paul Harris Fellowship of Rotary International Foundation.
