Marshall Board to award WWII veteran diploma in 2002
At the April 15 2002 Marshall Board of Education meeting the board will grant a high school diploma to a World War II veteran or to the veteran’s next of kin if the veteran meets criteria from Public Act 181 of 2001. Criteria include age 65 or older, enlistment or draft between 16 December 1940 and 31 December 1946, attendance at Marshall High, non graduation, honorable service, and completion of the diploma and verification process.

Fire Damages Home on Lowe Drive in Marshall
Marshall Fire Department answered a Tuesday night alarm at 1051 Lowe Drive. Crews found basement fire with all occupants out. Fire put out in about 30 minutes. origin in basement bedroom ruled accidental. No injuries reported. building heavy heat and smoke damage outside the burned room. Firefighters remained two hours for overhaul and safety checks.
