Black History Month events at Kellogg Community College
Kellogg Community College will host Black History Month activities throughout February and March open to the public and students. Highlights include art and essay contests, readings by James Dixon and Chris Curtis, the Fourth Annual Black History Program with fashion show and gospel, free concerts, lectures by Howard Dodson and John Beckley, and a Heritage Quiz Bowl with admission details and venue notes across multiple campus spaces.

Parent Tot Movement and Move program in Marshall
The Marshall Recreation Department offers a Parent Tot Movement and Move program for 2 to 5 year olds with a participating adult. Sessions run Thursdays from January 31 to February 28, 12:30 to 1:30 at the Marshall Civic Center 3rd Floor studio. Fee is 15 dollars for city taxpayers and 18 dollars for others. Original pastel by Kim Caron owner of Marshall's Blue Hour Gallery will be auctioned at the 12th Annual Oaklawn Benefit Auction on February 23 at Golden Gavel Auction Facility. The framed piece titled Miner's Rock 1 depicts an Upper Peninsula landscape and is valued at 150 dollars. It is on display at 127 West Michigan Avenue in downtown Marshall.
