McKinley’s Big System Drives Illinois Interurban Growth

The McKinley railway system expands with over 500 miles of track and aims for 700 as connections at Streator and Morris create a continuous St Louis Joliet route. A new bridge over the Mississippi and city tracks will enable home-to-heart of the retail and wholesale district commuting without changing cars. The State Fair crowds reached 125000, surpassing last year and boosting regional commerce, while plans for future interurban expansion, including Marshall, unfold under Congressman McKinley’s guidance.
