Darius LeGore Dies After Brief Illness in Marshall City
Darius LeGore died Friday January 8 at the New Archer House after a brief illness of la grippe. Born April 9, 1834 in Bellfontaine Ohio, he moved to Marshall in 1839 with his parents Daniel and wife Rebecca Payne LeGore. He served as school commissioner, Master in Chancery, and Police Magistrate. Survived by son Ben LeGore, brother Orlando LeGore, and sisters Mrs. Miranda Whitlocke and Mrs. C Q Chestnut. Funeral held Sunday at 2 pm conducted by Rev Arthur W Miles. burial Marshall Cemetery.

Winter Weather Brings Deep Snow and Cold Snap
Snow began Monday and lingered through Tuesday leaving almost a foot of snow. At 5 AM Tuesday the temperature hit 1 degree below zero and sleigh bells rang as the cold persisted. Snow fell again Wednesday and by Thursday sleighing remained excellent with forecasts of continued wintry conditions.
