Est Side Sewer System Postponed At Regular Council Session
The council met Monday night with the mayor and aldermen present and postponed action on the west side sewer ordinance for investigation. An ordinance on special assessments and creating a collector of taxes was paused, and streets were named in another ordinance. The meter rate for electric lights was set at 8 cents per kilowatt hour, and a $10,000 bond for the collector of special taxes was approved. Mayor Bell appointed Ed C Garwood to the post.

Funeral of Mrs George Kyle Held at U B Church
Mrs George Kyle died Monday of consumption at her home west of town. The funeral was conducted at the U B church Wednesday noon by Rev Thomas Walters. She is survived by her husband and a family of children. Burial followed at Marshall cemetery.

Miss Nettie Blue Shot by Boy With Air Gun
A young girl, Miss Nettie Blue, daughter of Reuben Blue, was shot in the back by a small boy on Elizabeth street while on her way to the Interurban depot. The bullet pierced her clothing and bruised her near the spine. she fainted and was treated at home after visiting a physician.

Boy Kicked by Horse Sustains Facial Injuries Near Town
Eight year old Harry Gardner son of Mr and Mrs Robert Gardner was kicked in the face by a horse while playing near their residence west of town. The blow struck the forehead chin and caulk with the shoe toe causing two wounds. several stitches were needed. Wounds are painful but not dangerous and recovery is expected.

Kennedy Steals Team and Goods from Redman Farm
George Kennedy, working for Isaac Barr, stole a wagon team harness 800 chicken two turkeys and two sacks of clover seed from the Barr farm near Redman. He drove toward Paris and was later traced to Propet's livery stable and connections in town before disappearing toward Terre Haute.
