On September 20 a Marshall gathering at the American Legion Home launched canvassing for voluntary contributions to fund an advertising program. Funds will back research for new markets and boost farm product consumption. BH Stadel of marketing explained the plan and its roots in last fall’s PD meetings. The Marshall C-2 board issued the remaining 47000 in bonds from September 1964, bringing total issued to 748000 for building, with about 778000 available after interest. Expenditures include 473000 to Baramac Construction, 54000 to Harrisburg Electric, 18000 to Potter Electric, 165000 to Frietag Weinhart, plus architect fees around 48000. Construction spans South Elementary, Gymnasium, and AG and industrial arts, totaling about 758000 with 19000 remaining for a new junior and senior high music department. The district plans a homecoming football game vs Robinson on Sept 28 and a budget of about 560000 for education and 61000 for bonds and interest.

Over 100 girls join G A A after school expanding to Monday through Thursday meetings. Four-H Harvest Festival At Clark County Fairgrounds
At the Clark County Fairgrounds on September 8 the seventh annual 4-H Harvest Festival drew 900 diners from fourteen 4-H clubs. The Clark Service Company bought a steer at the 4-H auction and donated it to the clubs. about 750 pounds of meat were served. Club mothers prepared potato salad baked beans coffee and tea while organizers said this year’s festival was the best yet and proceeds fund improvements to 4-H buildings at the Clark County and Martinsville fairs.
