Dress Trends In New York War Season styles
In wartime New York women stay stylish with practical attire. Military trimness marks the smartest outfits while fussy frocks move to evening wear. Novel hats feature Chinese mandarin styles, gray velvet sailors, Capaline shapes, and painted velvets. Matching hat glove and shoe tones in browns and tans are popular, with colored veils offering sharp contrasts. Veil tags may soon certify quality to curb imitations. A catalyst note on veils and bon ton concludes with a glamorous hydrangea blue georgette dress echoing lingerie styling and silver brocade, while beads and embroidery adorn sheer panels.
