School Board Delays Meeting To October 10 For Football Game
The Board of Education relocates its regular session to Friday October 10 at 8 pm due to Marshall Martinsville football on October 9 and the teachers institute in Charleston. Members plan to attend Illinois and Springfield meetings in late October and October 12. Administrators and faculty involved in vocational education will discuss the new state plan and system improvements. Over a hundred students are in vocational technical programs.

Train cars slip back on grade injuring two men near Auburn

Deaths Mrs India English Cox Skillman dies in Hawaii
Former resident Mrs India English Cox Skillman died September 7 in Honolulu after a stroke leaving a comatose state. Burial was in Inglewood California September 12. She taught in Inca and later became a businesswoman. Survived by daughter Judyth Ann Manley and two grandchildren, plus sisters Mrs Gillespie and Mrs Nay.
