The large plant several warehouses and the Illinois Central depot burned before firefighters contained the flames. The freight depot contents were saved with flying embers threatening multiple roofs. Authorities note Robinsons lumber yard and the IC depot have suffered repeated fire setbacks.

Mr. Fred Bubeck traveled to Jefferson Barracks in St Louis for a two day visit with his old regiment the 21st U S Infantry. He renewed acquaintance with former officers and many soldier friends and reported a fine time.
Mrs. Wilson Harlan departed for her house in Morgan Park on Tuesday, heading home after an outing.
J I Whallon, formerly of Indianapolis and ex Assistant Auditor of the Lake Erie and Western Railway, has purchased the Buck Sears shoe store on Main Street Marshall. He took possession last Saturday and plans to stock finer shoes while maintaining staple lines, moving with his family to Marshall BB. Mrs Whallon recently traveled to St Louis for additional purchases.
Orval Kale of near Westfield was thrown from his buggy when a horse he was driving became frightened by an automobile driven by A Bradstreet of Casey. Kale suffered a broken leg.
The Pythian lodge trustees voted to grant steam heating for the Opera House. Work began this morning and the contract will be let at once. It is hoped the project will be completed by Christmas, giving theatre goers improved facilities.
B. L. Taylor of Robingon visited Marshall on Saturday, drawing attention to local ties and community links during the weekend events.
