Baptist Ladies Husk Corn For Church Fund in Westfield

In Westfield Illinois on November 19 the Baptist church Ladies Aid Society husked corn in Jacov Goble’s field. The first load of 30 bushels belonged to the group. any excess would be paid at market price for shucking. Eleven ladies in light attire worked, yielding sixty bushels and an appetite for refreshments afterwards.

Jury members report from Hast St Louis to Marshall

Mr Will Craig served on a Federal petit jury and Mr Ay J Garver on the grand jury in Hast St Louis last week returning to Marshall on Saturday. Garver said the grand jury found many indictments, mainly bootlegging cases and three involving white slave traffic.
