Pardons Won for Clark County Man by Acting Governor

Hon H C Bell reports from Washington that Seth Dix of Hutsonville Clark County was granted a full pardon by Acting Governor Leighton of Montana after a long mercy process. Dix had been imprisoned since 1900 for killing Ben Davis a roadhouse keeper near Billings in self defense. He had shown good time and worked on roads in the mountains, with Bell credited for his role in securing the pardon.

Musicale at Walter Burdick Chapter Hosts Friends

Mrs Walter Turman presided over a Monday afternoon musicale for the Walter Burdick Chapter and a few friends. The program featured Mary Miller, Mary Cole, Esther Hurst, Ethel Hurst, and others in solos readings and duets. A basement visit followed with a browse of film listings and a Brussels carpet item noted among cataloged pictures.

A charity collection supported city churches for needy causes as the sermon praised American ideals, Pilgrim origins, and the nation’s constitutional progress, with notes on diverse European roots and shared culture.

Marriage of Miss Louse Goeckler and Mr Frederick Bubeck

The wedding took place at 6 30 p m on Wednesday November 37 at the bride’s sister Mrs Roy A Smith home in Indianapolis. Miss Goeckler is daughter of the late Christian and Louise Goeckler of north of Marshall. The groom is a farmer from Larwin township. The couple will reside near Marshall after a visit to Chicago.
