Lions Win Final Game From Robinson
Marshall defeated Robinson 25 to 7 to finish the season 7-2 and 4-2 in the E I Conference, tied for second. Mike Shonk passed 9 of 11 for three touchdowns, James Bishop threw two 25 yard TD passes, Rick Seidel added a 14 yard score, and John McNary scored from 1 yard. Charles Rose added the extra point as Robinson was stifled by Marshall defense. The Maroon lone score came on a fumble return at the Marshall 28. Sophomore team finished 6-1 and freshmen 1-4.

Sisters Improve After Indianapolis Coliseum Explosion
Miss Bessie O Neals sisters, critically injured in the Indianapolis Coliseum blast, show improvement in local hospitals. Mrs Fayette Kasserman of Newton Illinois is off the critical list but seriously ill at Methodist Hospital with eight broken ribs four on the other side a broken nose and wrist a tracheotomy aided recovery. Mrs Hazel Schumaker of Indianapolis is in fair condition at St Vincent s Hospital with a pelvis fracture four fractures of the right arm and head and face cuts. arm surgery relieved a pinched nerve. The sisters are daughters of the late Rev and Mrs James I O Neal of Marshall. George W Schumaker Hazel s husband was killed in the blast after 19 years on the Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis News staff. He was a Richmond Virginia native who had lived in Indianapolis 41 years and belonged to Northwood Christian Church. Miss O Neal recently returned to Indianapolis and thanks friends for prayers and calls.
