Revival begins next Sunday at 7 30 P M at Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church Martinsville with Evangelist Rev George Nika of Bible Church directing messages for eternity. H V Johnson leads songs and the pastor invites all to attend for nightly faith messages.
Hanspeter Mohler a Swiss native will address the Marshall Rotary Club next Tuesday evening November 12 at 6 30 in the Colonial Kitchen Mohler 26 holds bachelor and master degrees from the University of Basel and aims for a career as a consulting geologist with a petroleum firm or in an underdeveloped country He is pursuing advanced geology studies at the University of Illinois Sorcey Moundgoors arranged Mohler's appearance and will introduce him to the club Tuesday evening
Harry Sockler, now head coach at McComb Illinois, led his squad to an undefeated season with eight victories. The team outscored opponents 227 to 43. Earlier Lockier's squad clinched the Lamonie Valley Conference title with a 60 0 win.
Mr and Mrs Bernie Halloran of West York announce the birth of their third child, a daughter named Kathleen Marie, born Tuesday, October 29 at the Paris Hospital, weighing eight pounds thirteen ounces. Mrs Halloran is the former Carol Stanfield. Mr and Mrs James Hefner announce the birth of their daughter Cindy Lou, born Monday at the Paris hospital, weighing eight pounds two ounces, their second child.
James Edward Turner Jr 62 of Casey died after gas explosion injuries at the Coliseum where he and wife attended the ice follies. Mrs Turner was hospitalized at St Vincent. Funeral held at E U B church Casey with burial in Casey cemetery.

Dr Ira E McBride speaks on Forty Years in Africa next Tuesday November 12 at 7 30 pm in Trinity Church Marshall. A Nebraska native born 1898 and Westmar College graduate, he has opened many mission stations across Africa and now serves as superintendent of the mission.
Miss Helen Bryant daughter of Mrs H W Bryant and the late Henry Bryant married Victor T Phelps of Dallas Texas. Mrs Phelps a Marshall township High School and Lockyear’s Business College Evansville Indiana graduate became a Dallas resident ten years ago. County Clerk H. J. Kemp reports October was a record breaker for marriage licenses issued in his office with a total of thirty two licenses granted.

Marshall man Gus Hammond presented a two and a half foot lamp made from pop sickle sticks to the Herald office on Monday. The sticks were glued to form a novelty lamp with a distinctive design.
Clark county 4 H members showcased 156 exhibits at the annual fall show during the 4 H achievement program at Marshall High School. Gary Crumlin topped the corn yield contest with 198.6 bushels per acre, Richard Smith was second with 170.5, and Syve Kemp third with 167.6, earning cash awards from Max Waltrip of Clark Service Company.
Achievement Day for Home Economics 4-H clubs was held on Saturday October 26 at West Union Baptist Church with about 100 members leaders and supporters present. Notable honors included Club of the Year Model Misses 4-H Club of Marshall and junior leadership delegates Kay Leasure West York Janice Morton West Union Portia Kuhn Marshall with Patty McNary as first alternate.
The Illinois Bankers Association awarded ribbons at First Baptist Church West Union on Saturday October 26 to outstanding 4-H Club members. Recipients include Ann Shawley Theresa Wildman Kay Leasure and others with Kay earning a State A Rating. Wayne Evans of First National Bank of Marshall and Clark-Edgar County Bankers Association led the ceremony on behalf of the Illinois Bankers Association.
Ron Nadler of Cities Service Oil Co presented Lois and Carolyn Burkybile of Casey with Key Club Membership Certificates. Carolyn has been a 4-H member for nine years, meeting the selection criteria of eight or nine years in 4-H and demonstrating growth in projects and leadership.
Clark County Hereford Breeders hold their twenty-fifth semi annual fall sale at Martinsville Fairgrounds. Show at 900 am and sale starts at noon with Emerson Marting as auctioneer. Seventeen polled bulls and eleven polled females among 76 head of Hereford breeding stock plus 25 4 H steers offered. Lunch served on grounds by Martinsville Legion Auxiliary.
Quincy Remlinger of Marshall was struck at Tenth and Pine last Saturday night about 7 00 o clock by a car driven by Charles Ulrey. He was taken to Union Hospital Terre Haute with both legs broken and injuries to the body and face.
Lions dominate with 21 first downs and 400 yards as John McNary scores twice and Jim Bishop adds 125 rushing yards. Mike Shonk and Charles Rose contribute with key runs and points. Lions face Robinson in final regular season game and a half time flag football showcase is planned for sixth graders.
Next Monday November 11 stores in Marshall will close in observance with groceries remaining open. The closures apply to most businesses while essential food retailers stay open.
