International Live Stock Show at Clark County Fair

Hubert L Bennett and Bons of Martinsville will exhibit four head of shorthorn steers at the 57th International Live Stock Exposition in Clark County from November 28 to December 1. John C Thompson of Martinsville lists a Hereford steer entry. The event spans 10% acres in the expanded International Amphitheater near the Chicago Stock Yards, with nearly half a million visitors expected and debut of 14 International Horse Shows and a dramatic horsemanship performance.

Neighbors Harvest 5000 Bushels for Mattis Family

Ninety four neighbors gathered at a Danville area farm to harvest 78 acres of corn in four hours for the late Charles Mattis family. About 5000 bushels were picked with 20 tractors 50 wagons and 4 corn hikers assisting. A potluck dinner was held at the Mattis home serving the workers. Also noted is Edward Tumey Jr. serving aboard the U S S Snelling participating in the Sixth Fleet operation evacuating about 1500 Americans from Egypt from Alexandria to Suda Bay Crete.

Professor Chenoweth to Speak at Marshall Alumni Banquet

Eugene C. Chenoweth, educator and speech scholar, will address Marshall high school alumni at the November 21 banquet. A graduate of Marshall township high, he held principal posts in Illinois and earned the A M and Ph D from Iowa. He has taught at Illinois and Iowa and is active in multiple national speech associations.

Chicago Stock Show Opens November 23

The 57th International Livestock Exposition and Horse Show will run November 23 to December 1 at Chicago Stock Yards. More than 10 000 top farm animals compete for 100 000 in prizes with emphasis on carcass judging and live auction of champion carcasses. Farm youth events include 4 H judging and Collegiate Judging contests, with activities beginning the first days.

Indiana University professor to discuss Glimpees of Europe

A university speaker from Indiana University will present a sabbatical year summary focusing on research in the British Isles and Europe. The talk titled Glimpees of Europe will highlight experiences from time abroad and study results. Alumni of Marshall High School are encouraged to reserve seating for the Ithia dinner meeting.

Isaac Newton Brosman 72 died Sunday at home in Dolson township. Survived by wife Hattie M. Brosman three sons Harlie Clyde Denver and two daughters Hilah Towell and Faye Barnhart. Funeral at Five Points Church buried Auburn cemetery. John A. Snedeker 75 died Thursday at Christian Nursing Home Marshall survived by daughter Opal Martin and son Jobfile. Funeral at Moore Funeral Home buried Livingston Cemetery.
