Three Teens Arrested for Check Forgery and Car Theft
Three Milwaukee youths David Johnson 16 Allen Smith 16 and Bill Smith 14 visited Marshall Wisconsin on Monday, bought an oil pressure gauge with a bad check, then were arrested after police found blank checks and a stolen car. Federal agents later transported them to Danville federal jail.

Murder Car Linked to Casey Man Missing After Theater
A Cadillac from Missouri was found last Friday at the Davis Cafe in Casey and tied to a murder case. The vehicle owner, Thomas P. Shaffer Jr., had vanished after taking his mother to a St Louis theater. Shaffer's body was later found along a country road near St Louis. he had been shot in the back of the head and beaten.

William H Lackey of 304 Locust Street Marshall delivered a giant beet to the Herald office on Wednesday morning. The specimen weighed 6 and a half pounds and was grown on a Dennison area farm.
