The circuit court will convene Monday with Judge E. R. Kimbrough presiding. The docket includes numerous divorce, attachment, and chancery actions, with several appeals from Clark County and notes on foreclosures and partition cases among others. Grand and petit juries are listed.
Monday evening session yielded little business as the council approved a blanket permit for gasoline tanks under sidewalks with restoration tied to condition. The treasurer reported 8018.08 on hand, street lamps were ordered for several intersections, and 206 in bills were allowed before adjournment.

Taylor born September 8 1857 at departed life October 26 1914 aged 57 years one month and 18 days He married Jermina Washtler November 17 1887 They had six sons and one daughter He leaves his wife Allen Herman Edward Lewis Elmer Samuel Fenton Vern Clifford James Leonard and Anna Ethel and many relatives He was an honest upright man and a longtime member of Cumberland Presbyterian church then later of the M E church until his death He will be missed in his community
Mrs Anna Hutchinson wife of Walter H Hutchinson died Monday at her home six miles southeast of Marshall after a long illness from consumption. She was 85 years old and a daughter of George Hall. She is survived by her husband and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10 oclock this morning at Livingston M E church.
Dr Te Ae Foster of New Haven and H T Ferguson of the State University investigated the typhoid outbreak here last Thursday. They examined the water supply ice cream and various foods but have not reported results yet. Sunday School Convention set for Nov 8 at 1 30 p m at the M E church York with devotional by Mrs Mary Murphy and talks on mission and standards.
Charles Hutch ens of Martingville township brings in a mammoth pumpkin weighing about 100 pounds, claiming all records in pumpkin production have been broken.
Amdos Cleaver and Carl Beachout of the Ohio Oil Co. in Martinsville headed for Wyoming this week to construct oil tanks.
Ray Harrington and Settle Browny of Wabash township wed by Brown Flenner and Ethel Seaton of Martinsville.
Pioneer businessman Meyer Grabenheimer died at his home on North Sixth Street Sunday evening after a long career that began with immigrant hardship. Born in Germany he arrived in America with $1.50 and no English, worked as a railroad section hand, moved to Cincinnati then Terre Haute, and started a retail business in Marshall. His sons Joseph and Benjamin run the store today. The community observed the funeral hour as all local businesses closed.
The Evangelical Association reports revival meetings at Immanuel Church Grand Turn starting last Sunday evening with services each evening this week. The pastor will preach next Sunday morning at Marshall and invites all to join by letter or new membership, with growing interest and expected great victories.
A brand new law firm named Graham & Snavely is planned in Marshall. Graham, the oldest local lawyer, teams with Judge Herschel R. Snavely, the county judge and a highly qualified young attorney, forming a strong partnership.
James Ora Gillaspy, a fineman for the company, died after injuries from a runaway motorcar in the Catro division yards near Mt Carmel. No witnesses exist. a timber struck him as he passed on a siding adjoining the main line. The car derailed at Schrodt's Station after a train crew found the body.
President Wilson designates November 26 as a day of thanksgiving and prayer. He notes the nation's wartime trials, peace efforts, and renewed interdependence, calling upon Americans to pause from work and give thanks to Almighty God for blessings and relief amid global upheaval.
The Marshall business men announce the 1914 15 entertainment course at Pythian Theatre with six acts including Weatherwax Brothers Quartette and Hungarian Orchestra. Season tickets remain two dollars, single admissions priced to equal a season ticket for three numbers, and any surplus funds go to better talent next year. First show Tuesday night Nov 17.
Washington directs quarantine of cattle hogs and sheep across Illinois Michigan Pennsylvania and other states to stop spread of foot and mouth disease. Illinois allows immediate slaughter of stock moving to Chicago Peoria or East St Louis under inspection while interstate shipments are barred.
Lorton Bailey aged 0 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Bailey of Oliver, died Saturday from typhoid fever and was buried at Laufman cemetery.

The Clark County Teachers Association Martinsville section holds its first meeting at the South Side school on Saturday November 7 at 2 PM. Program includes music enrollment moral training in the home and school discussion of chapters 1 2 3 elementary education development during the middle ages the reformation curriculum and methods before the nineteenth century and practical plans for teaching primary numbers. Open meeting invites all to participate with remarks by Harry L Ryan and Elias Haddix of West Watson city visitors noted.
Election results show broad Republican gains nationwide with key offices shifting. County judge Ruffner and county clerk Morton win for the Republicans while Fredenberger and Wallace switch to party R and D respectively, indicating a significant local realignment.
Yesterday’s county election produced a narrow Democratic gain with county clerk likely won by Drake or Purdum. Nationally Republicans swept, Democrats lose House majority from 163 to about 45 while Penrose and Whitman won statewide races. Progressives faded amid broad turnout.
