Three new oil wells came into production in Marshall field this week. Albert Lee well acidized with 500 gallons of acid. first sixteen hours yielded 80 barrels. Hughes and Minnie Mae Murphy No 2 wells also acidized with optimistic outlooks. Wabash river flooding halted Glover land drilling. Bubeck well in York township abandoned as a dry hole.

Last Illinois G Avro veteran Lewis Fablinger dies at 103
Clark County notes the death of Lewis Fablinger at Hines VA Hospital on March 14 1950 aged 103. He was Lyon County’s last member of the Grand Army of the Republic and the final surviving veteran of Company H Clark County’s Captain Edwin Harlan’s unit.
