School District Reports 1952 53 Year Stats and 1953 54 Plan
The district tallies 725 children enrolled with 183000 attendance and total cost of 37 831 387 for 1952 53. Kindergarten was added late in the year and enrollment rose about 115 percent from the prior year. The board studied reroofing for North and South Side Schools and expects work soon. The 1953 54 calendar sets August 25 start, December 18 to January 4 break, and May 25 year end with eighth grade and high school commencements on May 24 and 25 respectively. Frank Fileski was hired to teach biology, replacing Eugine Morin who moved to California. All staff salaries will be paid as of June 15 to close the 1952 53 books.
