Mrs. Ora Beard and Mrs. Ethel Pine of Marshall Illinois will be featured in a WBOW radio series from June 29 to July 17. Programs at 11 30 a m and 1 45 p m include interviews forums quizzes and children stories from Indiana State Teachers College studios.
Mrs. Jennie Wilhoit of Paris route 2 hosted a family birthday dinner Sunday for relatives with June birthdays. Attendees included Bertha Murphy, grandchildren from Gary Indiana, and many Wilhoit relatives from Paris, Mattoon, Munice, Osage, and nearby towns, with extended family from Terre Haute and Oakland.

Rev J L Woolman will conduct a special revival at the Church of the Nazarene beginning Monday night June 29. Services will be at 7 30 CST nightly at Mar Church of the Nazarene Plum and Fourth streets. Woolman, from Bethany Oklahoma, has been a Nazarene pastor and evangelist for fifteen years with experience across Oklahoma Arkansas and Texas.

Capt James ONeal Attache and Mrs ONeal return from Pakistan in June. He visited his aunt Miss Bessie ONeal on Wednesday and Thursday. Capt ONeal wed Miss Enid Lord of England on April 22 at St Thomas Church in England Pakistan. They head to Washington DC to join the Intelligence Service at the Pentagon.
Mr and Mrs Chas Bush and Mr and Mrs Edward Parker attended the Illinois Chamber of Commerce meeting in Peoria Tuesday. Major points discussed included education focusing on pupil transportation and school finance.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Goeckler and family returned to their Corpus Christi Texas home Monday after visiting his father C W Goekler and other relatives for several days.

The safety lesson and child guidance talk were well received. refreshments followed for listed members and guests. July meeting moves to Rachel Rector’s on July 22 instead of July 15.
The Marshallettes met June 16 at Theda Rae Thompson’s home with President Joan Uhler presiding. Martha Bush demonstrated seam finishes and Carolyn Smitley showed facings while Elsie Irene Walls spoke on making them. Haroldine Kintz played a piano solo. refreshments followed. next meeting set for July 6 at Carolyne Emitley’s home. Mrs Eli H Smith of Washington DC arrived to visit her daughter and family and to meet her new grandson Paul Warren.
Last Wednesday John Marvin, trying to board a moving Big 4 train, was injured with a broken collar bone. Esquire J W Williams and wife marked their golden anniversary with a large family dinner. Will Thompson of Hastings visits with bride, Chalkley Nidey and Ella Hoskinson wed in Melrose, other licenses noted. Mrs Blundell and baby arrive from Kansas City after loss in the flood.

Prof L A Wallace honored on 84th birthday with a concert on his lawn by the Chamber of Commerce band. John L Keifer died aged 78. services at home, interment Crown Hill Indianapolis. Mrs Jessie Ruttman and Mollie Smith joined Mrs Harry Smith’s family in Seattle. Elizabeth Reynolds enrolled at Indiana State Normal for summer term.
The W C T U held its Annual June Meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burkyhle on June 18 with Leota Gibson leading a service citing John 20 25 to 31 and Isaiah 65:22. A memorial talk for Mrs. Mary Smalley was given by Mrs. Mabel Bierbaum amid prayers by Rev. John Thrasher and Rev. G. W. Gibson.
The Eckie Blue Bells 4-H club met June 16 1953 at Mrs John Quick home. President Linda Kammacher led the pledge. Judy Kannmacher gave secretary and treasury reports. Phyllis Quick and Leda Renner demonstrated baking cakes. refreshments served to Thelma King Judy Shonk Carolyn Sumption Judy Linda Kannmacher Phyllis Quick Leda Cartha Renner and Mrs Quick.
Wabash township announces the arrival of an 8 percent pound baby boy, Robert William, Saturday at Union hospital in Terre Haute. Miss Lucile Mathews, daughter of Bert Mathews, graduates in a class of 650 from Indiana State Teachers College Friday.
Carl V Taubeneck, 61, died Saturday at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. His body was moved to Marrs Funeral Home where services were conducted by H J Kemp and burial followed in Marshall cemetery.
