Hazel Katherine Newell Moore, born Terre Haute January 24 1905, died at 19 in Dennison May 23 1924. She married James Moore December 22 1922 and is survived by her husband, father John Newell, sister Pearl Meek, brother Harry, aunt Amanda Stepp, and many relatives. Funeral services were held at the M E church south of Dennison.

Marshall Illinois enacts an ordinance placing a license on curb pumps selling gasoline. The measure regulates street sellers and outlines permit requirements and compliance obligations for operators.
The Marshall city council ordinances a two dollar monthly license fee for each curb pump operator selling gasoline on city streets. Those using a curb pump without paying in advance may be fined two to five dollars per offense and jailed until costs are paid. Passed June 3 1924 and published June 6 1924.
