Buchanan Barnes nuptials reported in Anderson

Anderson City Council Grants Filling Station Permit

At the city council meeting Jos Steele received permission to erect a filling station on the corner of 14th and Main streets. A petition to gravel second street south of Main was approved. A Howe Fire Apparatus talk proposed a community engine for Marshall area protection. fire committee assigned. Former Marshall Man Celebrates Ninety Birthday

W. J. Goodrich, longtime Marshall resident now of Zillah, celebrated his 90th birthday at the C. Goodrich orchard home. A Civil War veteran, he commanded Company D at Vicksburg under General U. S. Grant in the 13th Army Corps. He is described as hale with many friends wishing him more birthdays.

Mundy Wins Two Seconds In Brazil Races

J S Mundy started three horses Buddy Harvester Elsie Mesrobe and Comet Stevens in races at Brazil Monday. Buddy Harvester won second in trot Elsie Mesrobe won third in trot and Comet Stevens won second in pace. Mundy recently bought Mary Coffey from Murphysville Tennessee who has a 2.08 percent record.

Circuit Court Convenes Monday With Large Docket

The July term opens Monday in the courthouse with Judge S Murray Clark presiding. The docket lists 9 criminal, 18 common law, and 66 chancery cases, involving numerous defendants and plaintiffs from Terre Haute Paris Shelbyville Anderson and other Indiana cities.
