Lindbergh praised as lone hero sparks defense urge
A column extols Lindbergh for individual courage and warns that defences hinge on readiness. It recalls his New York Chamber of Commerce talk on stronger air power, commercial air service, and mail routes, noting gaps like lack of an airport in New York City. It also mentions other items: a Chicago incident with Miss Mack, Sir Oliver Lodge on synthetic life, and a note about hog shipments and a Boston Store closing for summer vacation.

Worms in Poultry A Serious Problem
Poultry flocks suffer from intestinal worms with 50 to 75 percent infestation. Three main worm varieties impair growth, and unthrifty hens and chicks are common victims. Preventative steps include treating old hens thrice yearly, cleaning yards and houses, burning litter, scrubbing roosts, and using a lye dip. Proper sanitation and nutrition boost growth and disease resistance.
