The July term of Circuit Court met Monday and Tuesday and adjourned until this morning. Judge S. Murray Clark presiding appointed Hom H. R. Snagely of Marshall as master in chancery for Clark County for a two year term. Five common law cases were heard and seven divorces granted among twenty four chancery actions.
Harold Clatfelter, a baker with Sterling Bakery, was fined $15 and costs by Police Magistrate Antrim after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct. He was arrested Saturday night at Twin Lakes park by Officer Al Stepp. The incident stemmed from a dispute over a gift to a girlfriend, and as Clatfelter tried to drive away he ran over a farm hand named Hodson, who was not seriously injured.
Martinsville, NL July 14 There is a general falling off in milk production at this time of year. Milk and cream buyers testify to this and accept it as a matter of course. Some dairymen report increased production from sweet clover pasture. University of Illinois tests indicate the slump stems from failing food supply and sweet clover adoption helps overcome it.
Garmen Nelson of Marshall broke his left wrist Saturday while pole vaulting at an uncle's home near Oliver. He was brought to Dr. R A Mitchell for treatment.
Mrs. G. W. Prewett of North Ninth street fell from her porch Monday afternoon and sustained an impacted fracture of the upper left forearm at the shoulder. Dr. R. A. Mitchell served as the attending physician.

A forthcoming sidewalk from Lyman Booth’s corner to Newton Tibbs’ will be four feet wide to the Progress office and thirty-two inches elsewhere with crosswise boards and ground leveled by a scraper. Mrs. John K. Black returns from Mattoon with sister Lillie Warriner and Claude for several weeks of visits. Will Hollenbeck travels from Dennison to Hatton, newly engaged to teach next winter term in Dennison.
Jack Gallagher dislocated his collar bone escaping rain near Lesevre's store. Elmer Phillips and Gen Fredenberger boast premier corn yields east of Martinsville. Martinsville and Casey drew crowds for celebrations with Graham and Rex Ryan as speakers. A five mile bicycle race produced Fred Nightlinger winning a ten dollar watch, Lou Harlan second, Otho Tibbs third, Chas Hamill fourth with a bushel of corn, and one Martinsville contestant dropping out on the first lap.
Twenty years ago Orlando Lucan retreats from a foot injury with a cane. The summer normal starts at the North Side City School with 70 teachers enrolled, the largest first day turnout. Supt. Drake forecasts success. Profs Boyce Wallace and Miss Cora Baird teach. Board of Review members named Gard Biggs and Garver. Harry Smith elected clerk. Marriage of Harry E B Cork and Alma Robinson noted. ceremony at Frank Brosman home. The couple left for Jamestown Exposition trip the next morning.
Miss Florence Whitlock daughter of Mr and Mrs Whitlock of Tuscola with many friends in Marshall was cited in a local recall note ten years ago.
A southbound freight No 65 of the Bicy Four railroad derailed at Walnut Prairie early Sunday. Twenty six cars derailed carrying merchandise crushed stone empty oil tanks and refrigerator cars. Cause reported as a broken journal. Lyons and Mt Carmel wreckers cleared the track by Sunday evening. No injuries. Engine remained on track. Loss expected in the thousands until claims are settled.
Married to Clarence Hackett of that city Saturday B WM Davison secretary of the State Board of Agriculture left Monday for Washington DC on business linked to the food conservation program. Arthur Poorman passed the examination for admission to the officers reserve training camp at Fort Sheridan. Burdette Emerson spent last week in Springfield with his brother Dan family. Mrs Olen Clements hosted Matinee Musicale with a program of old English folk songs.
The Clark County Farm Bureau plans its annual picnic at Fairview Park in Casey on Thursday August 18. Joined by Rotary Club Business Men's Club Community Club and the Producers of Casey the event aims for a full day of entertainment with plans to be finalized by a committee.
Readers report Clark county picnic in Jackson Park Chicago on July 31 fifth annual event east of the boat house south of the Old Field Museum. Morning gathering includes games lunch at 2 00 pm followed by talks by Charles E Schenck and Arthur Poorman.

Mrs Ross Cuiter age 45 died Friday at St Johns Sanitarium Springfield. Funeral held Marshall Evangelical church at 2:30 Sunday with Rev B C Earhart assisted by Rev John Mundorf and Rev D Kroft. She is survived by daughter Mrs Harry Stewart of Robinson and son Harold of Detroit. Interment in Marshall cemetery.
A warehouse just west of the depot suffered roof damage estimated at 50 dollars after a fire broke out about 11:00 PM Thursday. The Marshall fire department responded and extinguished the blaze with chemicals.
