Death of Agnes Bailey at 31 After Short Illness
Agnes Bailey daughter of Mr and Mrs William Bailey died Friday at her home near Darwin after a short illness from measles. She was a bright friendly Methodist Protestant church member of Snyder. She is survived by her parents and one sister. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Snyder church by Rev Billings and burial followed at Brick Cemetery.

Kaiser Crushers Go To Camp Ready For First Draft
The final Clark county contingent of 44 drafted soldiers left for Camp Taylor Kentucky last Saturday. Crowds gathered relatives and friends, with Stewart White named captain and Harry Leatherman as assistant. The Martinsville Red Cross funded comfort kits and lunch boxes, Max Zschau provided boutonniere bouquets, and Rev. Frank Bruner spoke briefly in the circuit court room.

Miner killed by freight train near Oliver
The north bound Big Four train found Joseph Ellis, a Harrisburg miner about 28, dead beside the track one mile south of Oliver. A memorandum book showed his draft registration, miner union card, wife and baby photo. He may have fallen from a moving car during a high wind and epileptic fits. His body was taken to Muddy, Illinois for burial after an inquest in Oliver.
