Hurley Welsh of Wabash township sold a 1805 pound cow with the Clark County Shipping Association last week. The animal brought 12 cents per pound, netting Welsh $207.92.

He urged herd management breeding stock control proper feeding and sanitation as key prevention measures with J H Brock of the University of Illinois Dairy Extension department to speak on Herd Improvement Association at the next course meeting on February 14.
Illinois congressman at large S.Hon. Henry Rathbone introduces a bill for an appropriation to build a highway from Mattoon in Coles county to Toledo in Cumberland county as a Lincoln memorial. The road would pass Thomas Lincoln's home and link areas connected to President Lincoln.
Percy Stanfield has purchased from W. A. Williams his coal and feed business. Stanfield took possession Friday, though Williams will stay about a month to help. The business will operate along the same lines as before.
Rehearsals for the American Legion Harem Scarem Minstrel at the Pythian theatre Feb 16 and 17 began with RA Burns in charge. The cast is all Clark County Post 90 members led by Frank Archer Arlie Purdue Woodford Burnett John Brandenstein Charles Blundell and Fenton B. Cole end men. George Farris acts as interlocutor.
Paul Hill, owner on East Matin Street, fits up a store back room as a gymnasium with boxing gear and coaching for Marshall youths. Pupil Carl White won a seven round bout in Terre Haute, while Harold Ferris will fight in Paris on February 16. Armstong WFM S plans an all day meeting February 15 with Bible place-themed roll call and study.
Seventeen new farm accounts started at the Farm Account School held at the Farm Bureau office in Martinsville on February 2. Nine Martinsville High School agriculture students with their fathers join 35 Clark County farmers already keeping farm accounts. Peter B. Nelson assisted with book work.
Springfield reports Lieutenant Governor Fred E. Sterling has nearly recovered from a long illness and resumed official duties. He presided over senate sessions last week, with Senator R. J. Barr of Joliet acting as president pro tempore during his absence at the special session opening.
