Dale H. Sinclair of Martinsville was elected president of the Illinois Retail Farm and Power Equipment Dealers Association at its Peoria convention. The IRFPEDA includes over 600 Illinois dealerships and is affiliated with a national body of 16,000 dealers based in St. Louis. Sinclair owns Sinclair Implement Company, founded by his father in 1936. he joined in 1946 and has served as IRFPEDA director and in civic groups in Martinsville and Clark County.

A series of safety measures will be taken along a 50 mile stretch of US 40 in Clark and Cumberland counties Illinois to reduce a fatality rate 33 percent above the rural statewide average. Four of a Kind: Car Theft Ring Busted Near Martinsville
At about 11 a m Tuesday two boys were found in a stolen 1961 Chevrolet near Martinsville Illinois. The car had been taken from Colinsville Illinois. Two others had hitchhiked to Terre Haute and stolen another auto. The group returned to Marshall and stopped at Edington's Gulf Station asking about the earlier boys. The Edington attendant alerted police and the sheriff. All four were detained at Clark County jail.

Indiana nurse heads to Danang Vietnam for naval service
Ledr. Dorothy Jane Effner, U S Navy Nurse Corps, daughter of Ehrman Effner Terre Haute, is one of twenty nurses ordered to the new Naval Hospital in Da Nang Vietnam. A 1947 Methodist Hospital graduate, she joined the Navy Nurse Corps January 31 1957 and has served at San Diego Oakland Sasebo Yokosuka Bethesda. She holds the National Defense Medal.

Marshall High Choral Christmas Concert Set for December 22
The Marshall High School mixed chorus will present its annual Christmas concert Thursday December 22 at the Methodist church. The program The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols will begin at 7 30 pm with the girls chorus at 7 00 pm. The service in song features scripture passages and contemporary music written for the occasion. William Scobel will read, Mrs Basil Moore will accompany, and Don McFall leads the 85 voice chorus with Cherie Ashburn directing the 70 member girls chorus. Admission is free and a large audience is hoped for.

John Edward Clatfelter, 20, son of Harold and Mrs Clatfelter, was accidentally killed at his West York home while in his car preparing to go to the store. Authorities say a bump to the steering wheel may have discharged a gun. Kenneth Parmley and Patty Washburn, both 20, were issued a Marshall marriage license this week.
