Marshall Community Schools holiday dismissal and board meetings
The Marshall Community Schools dismiss today for Christmas at 1 45 p m elementary and 1 55 p m for junior and senior high. School resumes January 3. Board of Education meets January 12 at 4 30 p m in the central administration office, with business 4 30 to 6 30 p m and adjournment to 7 30 p m. They will discuss purchasing three new buses for fall 1967 and salary welfare for 1967 68 with the Classroom Teachers Association. Meetings are held second Thursday monthly. Faculty in-service begins January 11 at 2 15 p m to refine curriculum objectives and methods with consultants as needed.

City Council Debates Water Works Bonds and Depository
December 12 regular council session with most members present except Lee. The council read a water works and sewage bonds resolution and adopted it after questions from Stanley Lang. Bonds were signed in Chicago last week by Mayor Pennell, City Attorney Hollenbeck, and City Clerk Rhoads. A second resolution established a depository agreement with Dulaney National Bank, allowing withdrawals only with city engineer approval. The meeting noted the current water works dates to 1900 1901 and 1909 for the sewage system. Clark Dietz associate Norman Tufford reported progress on the gas metering station at the state line and awaiting equipment for the new station west of town. Gas Superintendent Raymond Miller reported 329 gas customers. The chamber thanked the council for Christmas decorations and the city offered free parking December 19 26.

Wolves and licenses cross Clark and Coles counties
Glenn Pennell of Parker township brought a wolf pelt to Marshall last Saturday and received a $5 bounty from the Board of Supervisors on Monday. Milford Stewart of Casey killed a wolf while hunting. Four wolves have been killed in the northwest part of Clark and Coles counties in recent weeks. Marriage licenses issued to O W Snyder and Leda Ballanger both 27 and 23 from Martinsville and Casey, Carl Nicholson 24 Martinsville and Flora Connelly 25 Martinsville. Lu Cole 73 died at Union Hospital and Terre Jay Swern 74 died at his home on East Archer Avenue.
