Mrs. Clara Jackley 64, daughter of Clark Hammond of Cleone, committed death by own action last Friday by taking strychnine. She suffered convulsions, admitted poisoning, and died about two hours later. She had been mentally unbalanced, previously attempted death by own action, and lived with her injured father. Funeral services were held Sunday.

Embezzler Legg Arrested After Decoy Letter
Charles W. Legg former agent of the C H D road at Casey embezzled about 1700 dollars last September and fled. He was arrested by a company detective at Westville Indiana after a decoy letter, surrendered willingly, and agreed to return to Illinois without requisition papers. He waived examination and was held to the grand jury in 2000 dollars.

Mrs. Susan Leslie aged 79 died after a long illness at her son Charles Leslie’s home in Indianapolis. Daughter of George and Mary Kildon, pioneer Clark county residents, she lived near Marshall most of her life and was widely esteemed. Survived by son Charles and two other children. Body brought to Marshall. funeral held yesterday afternoon by Rev. W. H. Zeigler. Interment in the city cemetery.

Municipal Christmas Tree Planned in Marshall
The Daughters of the American Revolution lead a push for a large municipal Christmas tree at the northeast corner of the courthouse square. Changes In Interstate Passenger Rates Take Effect
New interstate passenger rates went into effect this week with increases on most long distance fares. The Marshall to New York rate is up $2 and to Pittsburg up $1.60. Some fares reduced, Marshall to Terre Haute now 50 cents. A 47 car train carrying 942 horses passed through Friday from St. Louis to New York bound for Europe.
