Fourteen county schools served 3620 students while one school did not participate leaving 83 unserved. Average consumption reached 50.8 quarts per school annually with reimbursement of three to four cents per half pint. Top milk users were Orange Concord and eight, while Attendance Centers did not participate.
Clark County students consumed an average of 49.6 quarts of milk annually under the School Milk Program, per county superintendent Myron R. Tedrick. Eleven schools were commended for exceeding the 45-quart goal, based on figures released by Roland W. Bartlett of the University of Illinois dairy program.
