Engineers describe a monolithic brick pavement on Main Street Marshall Indiana as 33 feet wide with 60 to 67 foot roadway, using a central 36 foot lane and a combined curb and gutter. The method employs a rigid templet rolled over concrete to create a true surface with bricks laid directly on green concrete and guided by a moving mortar cushion.

Pearl Smith of a Martinsville area advertised and sold dressed beef from house to house. The meat, described as beef, was actually an old horse with fistula. Smith was jailed on two counts of violating the pure food law, after a report to State's Attorney Clements yesterday.

Alice Hortense Cooper born March 30 1909 Hutsonville died November 27 1916 after a brief illness. She was in school Monday then grew sick about five. Funeral services were held at the Walnut Prairie home with burial in Hutsonville. Survived by parents three brothers and one sister.
Hezekiah Kibby aged 75 from Marshall and Mary Shertz aged 68 from Parma Mo were married Sunday at Will Kibby’s home. Rev N E B Royer officiated the ceremony marking a lifelong union.
Merom Indiana to receive a Carnegie library building valued at ten thousand dollars with annual maintenance estimated at one thousand dollars. Village and township officers completed Carnegie commission requirements to establish the institution across the river from Merom.

Owen Gallagher died last Thursday afternoon after months of illness. He was born May 5, 1835 in County Donegal Ireland and came to the United States at age 20 settling in Pennsylvania before moving in 1871 to the county farm near the city where he lived 45 years. He married Sarah Gallagher in 1860 and leaves eleven children, five surviving as Kate Kane Joseph W. Gallagher Thomas Riley Grace Kull and Philip Risser. Funeral services were held at St Mary’s church and burial followed in the Catholic cemetery.
WN Landers of Terre Haute has moved to Bloomington to lead the Boston Store. Formerly with Hulman Co. of Terre Haute he is a practical business man who has remodeled and re arranged stock to a systematic layout. He plans to move his family to Bloomington soon.
John Scholfield and Opal Richards wed Wednesday evening at the bride's parents home with Rev J W Richards officiating. The couple, popular Marshall residents, will start housekeeping in a North Eight Street home furnished by the groom.
The Evangelical Association lists a 7 15 p m Wednesday prayer service at Marshall church. Sunday activities include 9 30 Sunday school at Zion Emanuel and Marshall, 10 30 preaching at Emanuel, and 7 15 preaching at Zion. The third quarterly meeting is at Marshall church December 16 and 17 with a Saturday conference and 2 o'clock preaching. Communion is Sunday morning at 0 30 and evening at 7 15. Rev Charles Geist of Terre Haute will conduct services. Joseph L Buyer is pastor.
The Methodist Church will present The Shepherd King cantata by J Lipcoln Hall on Sunday evening December 17 instead of the 24th. The ladies will hold their annual bazaar in the Odd Fellows building all day and evening Saturday. Sunday services proceed as usual with pastor B G Sandmeyer urging attendance. Mrs Samuel Nichols of Walnut Prairie visited friends in town.
