Casey High School Promises State's Most Complete Building
Casey High School unveils a near finished cream brick and stone building costing about 100000 dollars. Completed by Sept 2, it includes a 300 seat assembly room, a gymnasium for 1000 with gallery and stage, science labs, library, multiple classrooms, laboratories, kitchen and dining room, sewing room, agriculture space, and modern heating and ventilation with master clock and telephones in every room. Located four blocks east and three north of Main and Central, the 13 acre grounds accommodate athletics and agriculture work.

Murder in Terre Haute Taxi Driver Shot by Stranger
David Wolf, a Terre Haute taxi driver, was mortally wounded Monday night by a stranger who had hired his car to go to the Terre Haute Country Club. After a short distance east of the city the suspect tried to seize the car, shot Wolf just below the heart, then fled. Evidence ties the killer to a prior South Side Bank robbery in Indianapolis.

Death of Joshua Walls at Hatton after long illness
Joshua Walls died last Thursday at his Hatton home after a long cancer of the stomach. Funeral services were held Friday in Hatton by Rev. Jne Craig and burial took place in Brick cemetery. Born September 20, 1850 in Clark County, he married Susan Craig Dee on September 5, 1875. He left eight children, two died in infancy and another son George died four years ago. surviving are Alonzo Walls and several daughters, plus 18 grandchildren, a sister Rebecca Good of Hatton, two half sisters, and a half brother.

Three Martinsville youths William Neer Bertha Snyder and Nettie Deahl drowned in the Wabash River near Horse Shoe Bend about three miles below Darwin while wading after a late afternoon swim. Neer 21 and engaged to Miss Snyder, Miss Snyder 18, and Miss Deahl unable to swim. Lee Tarble survived, pulled from the water after aiding others. Bodies recovered by rivermen over hours. Spiketown’s annual homecoming brought together alumni who left twenty years ago for a Sunday gathering. Edward Fredenberger opened the business session with officers elected for the year: Ola Tingley president Rosa Litteral vice president Emma German secretary Cora Morris treasurer. The program included readings, a wartime dinner, recitations, a vocal solo, and a farewell prayer by Rev H D Hudson as 66 members answered the roll.
