Passage of No.1 Passenger Train Through East St. Louis Delayed
A Sunday crowd at Vandalia depot watched the No.1 passenger train pass through East St. Louis for the first time since a strike. The train arrived about four and a half hours late but went through without trouble, with escort by a squad of Boys in Blue in Terre Haute. Nearby, homeowners are urged to mow weeds for better appearance, and local express wagon firm Liston & Chrisman added service from Marshall to Terre Haute during the strike, boosting business. Samuel Hammerly and family of Indianapolis are visiting relatives in the city and at the Grand Turn.

Management of Child Summer Ills in Plain Terms
A veteran health note reviews treating summertime childish diseases with vomiting and diarrhea. It urges two goals: soothe the child and remove irritants, suggesting remedies like castor oil, milder tonics, and careful balancing of acid and alkaline conditions through diet and rest.
Colic treatment advice in early medical note
Castorol is recommended in large doses as a convenient remedy to soothe griping and intestinal nerve excitation. An anodyne mix may be given as needed. Prompt vigorous treatment can reduce doctor visits and may even save life. Colic often precedes diarrhoea and should be aborted by swift action followed by careful aftercare.
