Death of John Shipe in Marshall Illinois
John Shipe died last Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Payne at age 86 years 4 months and 20 days. Funeral services were held Saturday at the residence with Rev. EB G Sandmeyer officiating and burial in the city cemetery under Odd Fellows. Born December 1 1829 in Mt Pleasant Pennsylvania he married Rachel Warren and moved to Illinois in 1857 then Marshall in 1861 where he lived until death. Survived by three sons Charles Theodore and William two sisters Margaret Mathews and Mrs Sarah Wright eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was a timer by trade and a long time member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
