Gypsy Gets Life Term For Jury Murder Case
Démetre John, known as the Gypsy, was sentenced to life in prison in Rockville Indiana for the murder of his wife near West Terre Haute. The circuit court handed down the sentence after a change of venue. He is reported in poor physical condition with death expected soon.

Mrs Mary J Wallace aged 79 died at her home in Wabash township on April 9. She was widow of Civil War veteran William R Wallace and mother to seven: Nannie Birchfield Susie Oser William Fletcher Charlie Alex Walker and Alta Castleman. Also survived by 19 grandchildren one brother and one sister. A Methodist, she lay in Dunlap church where Rev Wart Phillips conducted funeral services with burial in Dunlap cemetery.

Death of a Former Marshall Resident Eva Kraemer
Mrs Eva Kraemer widow of the late George Kraemer former resident of Marshall died Sunday evening at the home of her son Edward in Terre Haute after five weeks illness. The body was brought to this city yesterday morning and funeral services were held in St. Marys church. She was 73 years old and survived by one son Edward two daughters Mrs S D Maurer and Mrs Amos Eckel of Terre Haute six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
