Lansing Mich December 3 The state supreme court ruled a verbal contract between Wilfred C Leland founder of the Lincoln Motor Car Co and Henry Ford invalid The dispute centers on about 6 million dollars claimed by Leland and other Lincoln members arising from a 1921 22 agreement under which Ford would buy stock at 2 per share and the Lelands would receive offices in a reorganized company The court held the agreement violated fiduciary duty as it favored one side and it could not be sanctioned The decision followed prior refusals by lower courts to uphold the contract

DETROIT December 3 police and blackhand squad detectives probed an explosion that last night destroyed a wholesale grocery warehouse on Detroit's near eastside. Investigators found no motive or clues hours after firemen searched the smoking ruins. The blast at 11:00 shredded plate glass, woke sleepers, and collapsed the two story brick warehouse owned by widow Mrs Pietro Cardiello. She said the business had only recently operated as a nightclub and could not explain the blast.
