Strawbridge a lifelong Manito and Green Valley resident died at 7 45 p m Wednesday in Pekin Public Hospital after several weeks illness He was born February 2 1885 in Green Valley He married Ella Squire March 8 1917 in Green Valley Survived by his widow a son six brothers and three sisters Friends may call at Johnson Funeral Home until 11 a m Saturday when the body will lie in state at St Pauls Lutheran Church Funeral services at 2 p m Saturday Rev O A Borchett officiating Burial in Meadow Lawn Cemetery

M Sgt Leroy Parkins arrived home Tuesday from Camp Carson Colorado with his mustering out papers after nineteen months in the military eight of which were spent in the Korean theater. Parkins has been released from active service and will finish his National Guard obligation of months and 21 days. A World War II veteran he holds the Korean Service Medal three Bronze Service Stars second Combat Infantry Badge and the U S Service Medal. He plans rest with wife and family and daily visits with daughter Mary Louise at Forest Park Convalescent Home Peoria.
