In Manita, Egypt Community Church lists Rev. Joseph W. Hobbs as pastor and A. D. Meeker as Sunday School Superintendent. Sunday School begins at 10:00 a.m. CST followed by Morning Worship at 11:00 a.m.
Sunday School at 9 45 am studies in the Scriptures for steadfastness of character with a junior choir formation for ages 8 to 13. Morning worship at 10 45 am features a Bible centered message and choir song. Youth Fellowship at 6 30 pm Evangelistic Hour at 7 30 pm with testimonies and a Bible challenge. A Wednesday prayer meeting at 8 pm and Thursday 2 pm Ladies Prayer meeting.
D. J. Powell ministers at Manito Methodist Church with church school at 9 45 a m led by F E Bender superintendent. The text notes that six of ten new members join through the church school and stresses the importance of strong teaching.
An evangelist urges wider Sunday School enrollment through friendliness. Morning worship at 10 45 a m features a forty five minute summer service and a brief report on Annual Conference activities plus special music.
Spring Lake Church closed its vacation Bible School with 104 total enrollments and an average attendance of 89.3. Seventy three pupils had perfect attendance. 19 teachers and helpers led nursery to intermediates with several assistants. Directors Paul and Mrs. Rager oversaw music and opening exercises.
Vacation Bible School starts well with a lively turnout of boys and girls amid intense heat. Four departments have ample staff and the church, workers, and parents deserve credit for the effort. Organizers aim to grow the second week beyond the first.
The picnic to New Salon planned by the Comrades of the Way Class for Sunday June 22 has been postponed and will be announced at a later date.
Mr and Mrs Bill Shelabarger Peggie Goodin Mr and Mrs Cleve Shelabarger with Joyce Shelabarger of Havana were supper guests of the Don Kramers.
Vacation Bible School concludes with a Friday evening 7:30 CST service at St. Pauls Lutheran Church Manito. Children will present hymns learned during daily Bible School sessions. Enrollment lists Primary Junior and Senior class participants and teachers, with music led by Mrs Rozella Limback and Mrs Elnora Moehrine.
Visitors to the Holy City in Lawton Oklahoma include Mr and Mrs Nelson Morse of Manito along with their son Gerald L Morse stationed at Shepard AFB Wichita Falls Texas and their nephew Sgt Robert E Morse stationed at Fort Sill Oklahoma during the June 16 visit.
Mrs J E Corbett Mabel Corbett Mrs Ernest Palmer and Mrs Hannah Hirst called Monday evening at the home of Mrs Eva Wilson and extended birthday greetings to her.
