Forest City hosted a dinner for Mr and Mrs Wayne Gathman and daughters Patricia Sue and Marcia in their home with several visiting guests from Detroit Havana Mason City and Rockford. Mason County Home Bureau Tea Honors New Members

Forest City Unit represented at the Annual Tea in Mason City to honor New Home Bureau members. The event drew county members, with Forest City Unit contributing ten new members and helping reach the county goal. Spaits Home Robbed Near Manila and Forest City

Two young men robbed the Spaits country home between Manila and Forest City last Friday evening. They bound Irene Spaits and searched the house, taking 250 dollars in cash and war bonds, then fled in the 1951 Dodge. The car was later found near Kingston Mines.

June WSCS Meeting at Manita Methodist Church

The June WSCS meeting at Manita Methodist Church was held last Thursday evening June 5. Mrs. Theo Bender and Mrs. Burl Lawson led the worship service with the topic Let the Little Ones Come featuring child pictures from around the world. Mrs. Lewis Warner chaired the business meeting with new officers present except Mesdames Paul Gosda and Melvin Meyer. Finances for the year were set with a bakery sale in July a Bazaar in November and a gift box in April. Twenty members and two guests attended and Mrs. John Rush resigned membership.

Forman Seniors Take Five Day Chicago Trip

Fifteen of Forman Senior High School's eighteen graduates joined sponsors Miriam Kauffman and Robert Burks on a five day trip. The group traveled by school bus led by Darrell Hirst leaving Friday May 30 for Chicago. They saw the Cubs double header at Wrigley Field and toured landmarks including WENR station, Sato Shop, Lincoln Park, the Chicago Temple, and participated in theater and museum visits. They ended with a Lake Michigan cruise and return sightseeing en route home Wednesday stopping at Chinatown, Municipal Airport, and Brookfield Zoo.

Vacation Bible School Planned at Manita Methodist Church

A Vacation Bible School is planned at Manita Methodist Church starting Monday June 16 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Children aged 8 to 12 are invited and a younger 3 to 4 year olds nursing school segment runs 9:30 to 11:00. A team of department heads and volunteers led by Rev. Powell will guide the program.

Hilst Family Reunion Honors Golden Anniversary At Church

The descendants of Rudolph and Mrs. Hilst gathered at St Pauls Antheran Church for a family reunion last Sunday. They honored Pey and Mrs William Hilst of Fayette for their 35th wedding anniversary. A pot luck dinner followed by visiting. Bev and Mrs Hirst received a monetary gift and the seven Hilst children gave luggage. Four children attended.
