Mrs Anna Maas Dies at 53 in Pekin News

Mrs Anna Meyer Maas, 53, died Monday at a Pekin home. Rites were held at Abts mortuary and St Joseph's church. She was a practical nurse for a decade and a member of St Joseph's church and its Altar Society. Survived by three sisters, two brothers, and an infant son. Interment in Sacred Heart cemetery.

Forest City Manito Community Unit elects officers

Vernon C. Langston was elected president of the homecoming committee at Forest City Forest City Manito Community Unit’s annual meeting and election of officers. The group favored holding the homecoming on the last Thursday in August the 31st. Also named were Russell Rickett as president, Charles Embree as first vice president, Vera Hermann as second vice president, Mabel Emmons as secretary and Harry Embree as treasurer. Directors named include Elmer Bortell, Lee Langston, Vernon C. Langston, Clarence Kreiling and James Rochester. Emmons reported a treasury of 1712.56.

Iowa firm to open drive in county

An Iowa firm launched enrollment for the National Benefit Hospital and Surgical plan in Manito and Mason County. Accredited representatives from Des Moines will visit homes to explain coverage and enroll qualified residents before the limited visit ends.
